2022 Texas ProStart Invitational
Teams of students representing their ProStart programs will compete in the Texas ProStart competitions. One qualifying competition is held over one weekend in Dallas, Texas at the Collin College – Preston Ridge Campus. In this qualifier, 50 culinary and 24 management teams compete. First place winning teams in the culinary and management competitions qualify to compete at the National ProStart Invitational.
- Develop and present an original restaurant concept
- Apply critical thinking skills to everyday challenges
- Prepare a 3-course meal in just 60 minutes with 2 butane burners and limited supplies
- Judged on knife skills, teamwork, safety/sanitation, tasting, and menu development (recipes and costing)
2022 Texas Invitational Details
Up to 50 culinary teams and 24 management teams compete at one weekend-long invitational.
Competitions are open to the public. Admission is $15.

March 25, 2022 – Team check-in & orientation
March 26, 2022 – Competition
March 27, 2022 – Competition & awards ceremony
Previous Competition Results
The state final in 2020 and 2021 competition were cancelled due to COVID-19.
