Graduates of the Texas ProStart program are considered restaurant ready and are often eager to launch their career in the hospitality industry. When hiring for new employees, be sure to ask if they participated in a ProStart program while in high school.
Additionally, we encourage restaurant companies to get more involved in the ProStart program in order to proactively seek new talent. Recruiting is a big issue for restaurants lately, and there is likely an untapped source of labor right in your town.
Involvement could include mentoring at local participating ProStart schools, offering a class trip to your restaurant, hosting a revenue share for the TRAEF, or attending, volunteering, and exhibiting at one of the ProStart competitions.
